Township of Mantua Municipal Building and Law Enforcement Facilities
Location: Mantua, NJ
- Project Type: Renovation / Addition
- Project Details: The original 4,175 SF municipal building and 6,810 SF police and court administration building were completely renovated and expanded to 10,425 SF and 17,155 SF respectively. The buildings were old, inadequate and uninviting for both the public and staff. Ruggieri & Partners, in addition to providing full architectural and construction administration services, developed the center’s land plan. This plan includes a drive-up window for the payment of municipal services and taxes and a vehicular sallyport for the law enforcement function. In addition to providing adequate staff space, the council chambers and courtroom have been expanded to meet the needs of the growing community of Mantua Township. The Client required that "flat" roofs not be used and the architecture should develop in such a way as to create a unified center. Therefore, we elected to create new buildings in a similar style to the existing MUA building. Hence, shingled roofs with stucco and stone walls brought the theme of all three (3) buildings together in a most cost effective solution
